In an interview last week, developer Tarun Agrawal and project contractor Steve Arskey explain why Horizon has introduced Sunderland to a unique standard of accommodation for young professionals, university leavers and university students.
Tarun proudly tells us how the Horizon building has so much character. Many of the Sunderland buildings offer a city view, a canal view, a sea view or a garden view but this building offers all of them, mixed into one aspect and feels so lucky to be able to take on a project such as this. Like-minded Steve Arskey, from Arskey & Co. was instantly as excited in the project and could see Tarun’s vision after their first meeting.

Tarun’s idea is to provide occupancy and the needs for one person and providing the right finishes allowing the tenant to relax. Also to provide enough storage, facilities and space to cook and feel very at home.
Outside the tenants comfortable living space is the social and communal facilities that will be so welcomed by the tenants of this building. There is a wonderful social space where 15 people can comfortably relax, cook and dine. Plus a games rooms and cinema room for groups of friends.
High specification was paramount to the developer and all consultants involved because this leads to repeat business from the tenants feeling so comfortable and at home. What tenants will love about this accommodation is how affordable and inclusive it is – all bills and facilities are included in the monthly rent.
Both Tarun and Steve feel there is nothing comparable in Sunderland and all consultants and companies involved in the project are form London, Birmingham and Manchester. They have all modestly tried to set a bench-mark in Sunderland, or at the very least set the bar extremely high by giving something that’s simply not available, whether the subject is facilities, finishing or structure.
On Friday 26th April, 1pm to 5pm and Saturday 27th April, 10am to 1pm there is an opportunity to visit the project, meet the developer in the flesh and visit the newly completed show apartment.
This renovation project is on track for completion in July 2019. By the end of April the first five floors are scheduled to be complete and the exterior cladding should be complete (sections of the ground floor will be done last to avoid damage during construction)
It will also be the last opportunity to for you to take advantage of the currently £2,500 discounted purchase price. This discount was an initial launch offer which the developer continued, however the price will increase to standard price from 1st May 2019. Currently prices start at only £47,495 for a fully furnished studio apartment.
